Terms

Effective October 12, 2026

By using the Hey Kosher app or website, you agree to these terms. They are short on purpose. The main point: we help you read a package, and the certifying agency or your rabbi has the final word.

An informational service

Hey Kosher reads certifications and collects published rulings. It is not a religious authority and does not give halakhic rulings. The certifying agency, or your own rabbi, always has the final word.

Verdicts may be wrong. Labels change, records can be out of date, and text recognition makes mistakes. Always check the package. See how verdicts work.

No warranty

Hey Kosher is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not promise that it will be accurate, complete, or always running.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Hey Kosher and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss that comes from relying on a verdict.

Your contributions

You keep ownership of what you submit. By submitting a photo or product details, you give Hey Kosher a worldwide, free license to store, publish, adapt and share them in the public product library and in the app.

Contributed data may be shared under the Open Database License (ODbL), and contributed images under CC BY-SA, in keeping with Open Food Facts co-attribution. Details are in our privacy policy.

Only upload what you have the right to share. Do not include people’s faces, names, or other personal information. We may edit or remove any contribution.

Acceptable use

Please do not scrape the site in a way that harms the service, abuse the API, send false or spam submissions, or try to break or get around our limits. We may block access if this happens.

Privacy and analytics

Our privacy policy explains what we collect and why. The website uses Google Analytics cookies to count visits; by using the site you agree to that use, and you can block those cookies in your browser without losing any features. The app does not use analytics.

Trademarks

Certification marks and names of certifying agencies belong to their owners. We show them only to say what a package carries. It does not mean they endorse Hey Kosher.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top will change when we do. If you keep using Hey Kosher after that, you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where Hey Kosher’s operator is based.
